I love capturing moments in time for families, groups of friends or individuals. I have so much fun taking photos and editing!
My style is casual, candid and fun. I live in Chapel Hill but am willing to travel to Pittsboro, Durham, Raleigh or Hillsborough. Just let me know where you are and I can come to you.
In my normal life I am a social worker at UNC and feel really lucky to be paid to be nice to people. In my spare time I'm a Guardian Ad Litem for Chatham County, a kitten foster and board member with Chatham Animal Rescue and Education (CARE) and spend a lot of snuggle time with my 10 year old rescue pup, Cooper. I'm a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and a AmeriCorps Alum.

"I booked family photos with Heather on a Thursday night. 6pm. A 6 month old and a 2 year old. The 2 year old hadn’t taken a nap. Nobody had anything to eat except goldfish and apple juice (parents included). It was muggy and like 90 degrees outside. Recipe for disaster? No! Heather was amazing. She was calm, friendly, unflappable. We loved her! As I worried about whether or not we were getting good shots (imagine stereotypical mom making a ton of funny faces, singing You Are My Sunshine over and over and over again, digging in diaper bag for toys, hairbrush, wipes, etc etc etc), Heather just kept confidently clicking away, gently coaxing my camera-shy son to interact and getting my baby girl to giggle. The proof was in the pictures. They were amazing. I was expecting maybe one or two good shots. Nope - instead we had the total opposite, wonderful “problem” to have - choosing just a few to frame. They are all so great! If your style preference is casual, fun, organic pictures that reflect who you and your kids are without the drama, posing, and stiffness that some portrait photographers produce, Heather should be your go-to. We’ll be repeat customers for sure! " Pam, Chapel Hill
"Having 3.5 yo twin boys, it seems impossible to ever have both looking in the same direction at the same time for a picture, but Heather was able to capture it! She was nice, easy to work with, and had our online album up within a day! We would definitely recommend Heather to other families." Susan, Hillsborough
"My 3 year old son was really comfortable hanging out with Heather while she was taking pictures. We walked to the playground then back to our house as she captured what we would typically do on the weekends. (Hangout and look for cool flowers on our tricycle) My 1 year old did a great job of trying not to smile but I’m sure she loved hanging out with her brother. Heather was easy going and very nice to work with. I liked how she captured action shots as it’s really hard for young kids to stay stilll. I’m a fan of her lifestyle shots. We would recommend her to have family pictures taken" Amy, Chapel Hill
